Well, JoAnn and I just got back from the Face Painter’s Jam in Montclair- Lilly Walters hosts the event the first Tuesday of every month. Tonight there was a huge turn out, almost every table filled with an artist of some skill- This is the opportunity for newbies to gain experience and the experienced to hone the skills they thought they might have lost. They meet at the Panda Garden Buffet, 9066 Fremont Ave, Montclair, CA, 3:00 pm to 9:30 when the restaurant closes. Beside being able to get a free face, cheek, arm, back or belly painting, you can shop for supplies as there are usually one or two local vendors there. Paintings are free but Lilly also does classes (not free-but inexpensive, sign up on the web site link above). We had a great time, saw some old friends, made new ones, exchanged cards and stories, – What did I Paint? well, nothing, really. I didn’t even get the brushes wet! I was having too good a time!

Another satisfied Client at the Fullerton's Farmers Market!
JoAnn and I start the Fullerton Farmers Market Today. The event starts today and runs everyThursday evening 4:30-8:30 from now until October. Come on by to say hi, we’d love to see you. There are lots of fun things to see, do and of course there are lots of booths of veggies, fruits and trinkets. This is our fourth year there and its getting bigger each year. Trackless trains, horse rides petting zoos and Kid jumpers are just some of the entertainment the City of Fullerton has available for your enjoyment. There are also Food Booths, (the tri-tip sandwiches are awesome) Snack food and plenty of drinks. They have booths selling Hand Made items and a Beer Garden for the big kids(Adults of Course) and the Fender Museum is open till — well, I believe its open till 8 PM- What’s there this year?-Come on by and see.

The West Coast Face Painters have had their monthly Jam yesterday. It’s held in Montclair at the Panda Gardens Buffet, just off Central. Lily has a great Jam and it was a lot of fun. This is the night that a good friend pushed me off the fence to paint my first item. It was a shamrock, practice for St Patrick’s Day, but a painting nonetheless. As JoAnn put so delicately, I am no longer a face painting virgin. The art was a little shaky, but the kid was a bit impressed. Said I was really good. Hah, he didn’t know the stress I went through as I painted the little green leaf. It really is one thing to talk about learning to face paint and an entirely differnt thing altogether to actually do it. Maybe the fear of failure, or being told that I didn’t do it well enough. Since this is a blog and not a therapy session, I’ll leave the depth out of this for now and say that I got through two more shamrocks, a baby tiger, Daddy Tiger, a magician’s hat, wand, Red then Black Power Ranger, Stars, moon and sun! So I guess JoAnn was right, now I just need lots of experience and practice.
